When DEA evaluates a site, we study the entire system of soils, vegetation, habitat, and ecosystem processes to ensure efficiency and sustainability in approaches to environmental management. Knowledge gained through the use of advanced technologies — geographic information systems, GPS surveys, and new concepts in conservation biology — helps our scientists better understand specific ecosystems and prepare the restoration design and long-term management strategies necessary to create sustainable projects.
