Arapahoe Road and Parker Road Interchange
DEA was contracted by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Region 6 to provide final design for the Arapahoe Road/Parker Road Interchange.
The interchange design is a culmination of more than a decade of work by Arapahoe County, including a full feasibility study and environmental assessment. The next phases of the project will provide independent utility, meet short- and long-term regional drainage/water quality requirements, and minimize throw away as the phases build toward the ultimate interchange complex.
A proactive stakeholder and public involvement program were important factors in the project's implementation. Multi-jurisdictional, there were four quadrants of separate cities or counties, two separate CDOT regions, and a metro district involved.
