Fairview Park Nature and Interpretive Center

DEA provided master planning, design and final construction drawings for one of the most significant nature and interpretive facilities of its kind. The park plans included restoration of native habitat while providing public access, passive recreation and interpretive facilities.

Fairview Park's 211 acres is home to an array of significant, and in some cases, endangered native plant and animal species. The park will establish significant native habitats including California native grasslands, coastal bluff scrub, open sandy coastal scrub and riparian wetlands. These environments will provide habitat for an array of insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

Included in this restoration program was the re-establishment of several vernal pools and associated wetlands. Fairview Park also includes a variety of trails and interpretive facilities.
