Pine Tree Wind Facility (120 MW)

DEA is currently providing professional engineering, land surveying, and construction services for the 120 MW Pine Tree wind project.

This project includes 80 wind turbine generators on a 12-square-mile project site. DEA is developing engineering plans for 37 miles of project roads and site grading plans for 80 turbine sites.

Another 35 acres of site grading plans are being developed for laydown/staging areas, concrete and gravel batch plants, a substation, and maintenance building.

DEA is also performing a structural review of the turbine foundations and structural design of the project maintenance building.

In addition, DEA is providing boundary and transmission line ALTA surveys and records of survey, and an FAA airspace and military flight plan analysis.

DEA will also serve as civil and structural engineer of record for the project. Additional services include construction surveying, oversight of road construction, environmental compliance monitoring, and preparation of a storm water pollution prevention plan.

In addition, the DEA team was responsible for designing a 34.5 kV underground power-collection system and a fiber optic communication system. General layout and connection diagrams were developed for both systems to meet the project SCADA needs.
